First, we'd like to thank everyone for their wonderful comments, they are great to read and are shared with many people here at Erik's!

Before we list the winners, we'd like to respond to a couple of reader comments:

karyn said...My personal favorite is the tomato bisque. Its so smooth and creamy and the best ive ever tasted. My son on the other hand can not get enough of the Clam Chowder. Whenever i ask him where he would like to go to lunch he reply's " Erik's Deli for CLAM CHOWDER!! i don't even know why i ask anymore!!! :) We love it! How old is your son? Not sure if he'd be interested in wearing it, but the Goo Times would love to send a t-shirt with character his way in appreciation for his commitment to Erik's!

James said... My wife digs the kickin' chicken. Our anniversary is on the 19th of May and she would do backflips over a half Abbott's Habit and some Kickin' Chicken soup..Awesome! The image of someone doing backflips over an Abbott's Habit and some soup brings a smile!

Foundation Citizen said... My favorite thing about eriks deli is the vegetarian soup. We are a vegetarian family, which is why we love that soup. I have been eating that soup since the early 70s in scotts valley and I love it. It is the cure to the common cold! Our family would definitely buy it if it were in stores...Thank you for the kind words...our hope is to have soup available for retail purchase in the Winter of 2010! (subject to change)

Great question in regards to bread bowls...I don't believe the plan is to do so (not sure if the bread from the bread bowls would last for a long period of time). However, we will be sure to pass this on to the powers that be...

Laurel said...OK, *sigh* maybe I'll win a yummie sandwich from the second chance drawing. I Love the Vegetarian Vegetable soup. Your special seasoning is something I crave. And, ahem, it was my idea to have the new veggie sandwich...or, at least, you listened to my suggestion! Thank you! Blessings, Laurel...Yes we do read and listen to suggestions! Hahaha...as an aside, yes we are looking to add more vegetarian sandwiches to our permanent menu (look for the Farmer's Market and likely the Vegetarian Siena this summer!).

Looking for even more ways to give away free sandwich cards, our guest blogger "Pilgrim's Progress" jumped in and suggested that a free sandwich card should be given out to a "great comment" each Goo Times Giveaway.

After a heated debate between Raging Bull and Pilgrim's Progress (observing two sandwiches with character debate each other is not pretty!) it was agreed that the Goo Times would give away an extra free sandwich card away to one "great" comment each Giveaway.

My favorite soup is the Tomato Bisque -- it's silky and divine!

According to Pilgrim's Progress this comment was picked for it's description of Tomato Bisque as "silky and divine," a description not necessarily associated with a soup, but one that fits! (continuing the mythical debate above, Raging Bull and Pilgrim's Progress then debated whether "silky and divine" would be an apt description for their respective sandwich!)
