I see a number of other posts have not followed the directions of saying precisely, somewhere in the post, "Hi," and "Happy New Year." I don't know if it matters or not.....?

I technically already qualify, see above. However, although I technically qualify, I may not qualify in spirit, as I have not actually said hi, or Hi, and have offered no wishes. Therefore, let me be clear in saying Hi to you all, and to Eriks, and in offering my sincerest wishes for a Happy New Year. One writes emails like this when working on a large and boring work project, and wishes to escape. I should just walk over to Eriks.......

As a lawyer of sorts, Pilgrim's Progress applauds the dissection of the directions and bringing up a technicality! We are glad that you paid attention to the directions! (Raging Bull then attempted to "dissect" Pilgrim's Progress for a technicality with no luck! haha) : )

Raging Bull would also like to thank Second Alto (our second winner) for this great poem! We are going to have to share it on Facebook!

Happy New Year, Raging Bull and Hi to all!:

An Ode to the New Year:
The 2 for 1 New Year coupon came in handy to feel,
We headed to Milpitas, ready for a good meal.

The auspicious day was 1/1/11,
It already boded for fun, fun, fun, fun.

My man had Cubano, and I went for Pulled Pork on a bun;
I added tomato bisque soup, it's always yum-yum.

We're never disappointed for lunch or for dinner,
Have you thought about breakfast? That might be a winner.

May health and happiness be ready and able,
And Eric's good food always be on your table!

The BBQ pulled pork was good, but absence makes the heart grow fonder. I'd like to see them again next winter. I'm glad the Rio Grande Club is now permanent! Yum...

Wow, BBQ pulled pork seems to be very popular...understandable. However, I am a big fan of Classic Holiday Sandwich--I always go get that sandwich on every holiday season. Thus, I really hope to see the sandwich on your permanent menu so that I can enjoy it all year around!!

When I satarted eating sandwiches at Eriks so many years ago, I was a carnist (like most of my friends). However, by and by, I began to change my views and diet. Eventually I morphed into being a vegetarian. I love many of Eriks veggie options, which is why I still go there, and often buy sandwiches for my meetings (thus "forcing" my colleagues to eat a veggie lunch. Therefore, I cannot recommend any of the current specials to become permanent. However, to qualify, I would suggest the Wild Alaskan Salmon salad, ordered without the salmon.

I am just about in tears...gonna miss that BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich! I love slapping the coleslaw on the sandwich and eating it all together! Had I known it was the last week, I would have gotten it yesterday while I was there instead of the Marakesh Express!

If I have to choose from this seasons I would say the Holiday Sandwich but the one that I really want on the forever menu is the Cannonball (meatball) because it is my husbands favorite and he is much more excited about going to Erik's when it is on the menu.

My all time favorite sandwich (and the one I get each time I come in) is the pilgrim's progress, but seeing as that is there all year round, I would have to also go with the holiday sandwich because it is my husband's favorite and he would come to erik's deli year round with me if it were there year round. As it is, it is hard to get him away from the burger joints to go for a sandwich instead, but I am positive that if the holiday sandwich were always available that erik's deli would be our first pick each time we went out. So please, because I LOVE you, Erik's Deli, keep the holiday sandwich around!

I vote for the Pulled Pork - and so does my husband! A second for me would be the Cubano! Both are super yum, and I like all the veggies in the Cubano.

Happy New Year!

Holiday Sandwich... all the way! Having it year round would be spiffy

And they are rounding the corner BBQ Pork is in the lead followed close behind by the Cubano. Salmon wrap is making its move and is almost nose in nose with the holiday sanwich. WAIT WAIT...Cubano has just over taken BBQ Pork which is falling behind. Salmon Wrap is running hard. Holiday Sandwich and BBQ Pork are now neck and neck as we come to the finish line. Cubano is pulling ahead as we reach the final turn BUT OH NO!!!!! Salmon Wrap has seemingly tripped and is limping to the side leaving the path open for BBQ Pork which seems to have found a second wind. BBQ Pork is pounding pouding...Cubano is looking over its shoulder and OHHHHHHHHH HERE WE GOOOOOO ITS A PHOTO FINISH>>>>>and we have to wait for the camera....Spectators are on their feets screaming for their favorites and the FINAAL RESUUULLLTTS ITS BBQ PORK BY A NOSE!!! WHAT A RACE!!

Please add the Chipotle Salmon Wrap to your menu year round. Unfortunately, I am super broke right now and cannot get to Erik's before the 24th, but I NEED to eat it AT LEAST one more time. It's not fair to make things so delicious and get us addicted, only to take them away from us! Help a sister out!

Dear Erik's,

You MUST keep the pulled pork sandwich on the year round menu! We think it is better than any other place around that serves them - even the ones who specialize in pulled pork sandwiches! Granted, it makes it a difficult decision on what to order as Erik's adds new sandwiches to the menu, but we solve that problem by eating at Erik's even more!
Thanks for asking!!
