Welcome to the Goo Times

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Good Morning Erik's Email Club Members!

Good Morning Erik's Email Club Members! Today, we thought we would look at "What's Next" for Erik's in 2010.

A Goo Times Giveaway: let us know in a comment below what you are looking forward to in 2010! We will do a random drawing to give away ten (10) free sandwich cards and one (1) twenty-five dollar gift certificate! The drawing will close on Wednesday at 11:59pm. Please check back on Thursday, January 14 to see if you are a winner!

In honor of the new decade, Erik's will become a full fledged hot dog shop serving "hot dogs with character"!!! We kid! We kid! Rest assured, this will never occur!

All kidding aside, we are looking forward to 2010 and a full on menu revision in the summer of 2010 and by "revision," we mean the addition of popular "What's New" items such as the Farmer's Market, Tuscan Club, etc. (although nothing has been set in stone). As we learn more, the Goo Times will keep everyone updated.

We got a lot of responses from a previous post on menu additions and we plan to take customer suggestions into account. So please, feel free to let us know what you want added!

Also keep an eye out for the following:

  1. Design Your T-Shirt with Character Contest - help design a new T-Shirt with Character!
  2. Bring Erik's home with you! Bread, Goo and more on sale soon!
  3. Wi-Fi in an Erik's Near You!
  4. A Goo Times Correspondent: get a gift card from the Goo Times, and post your Erik's experiences!

Thank you again to everyone for helping get the Goo Times off the ground in 2009. To a Happy 2010!

Till Next Time...

Oooo Goo on sale soon! That's enticing! I can't wait!

I will continue to push for you bringing back the Widow Bennett. Maybe someday you will listen to me. :)

It would also be fabbo if you keep the French Picnic on all year long. That roasted garlic is delish.

A full menu revision? Surely that is something to look forward to in 2010. I can't wait to hear about the new sandwiches you'll come up with next! I also look forward to eating some of those delicious Holiday Sandwiches before they disappear again. Looks like you have some cool promotions headed our way too.

One more post: Please Eriks Deli, continue your great tradition of keeping vegetarian sandwiches on the menu. I loved the farmer's market sandwich. Also, one of my favorite quick meals in all of Santa Cruz, is a bowl of vegetarian vegetable soup, always available. Please never change that!

I would love more vegetarian choices on the menu. Farmers market is a great go to sandwich. Maybe one with roasted veggies, cheese, etc!! I can't wait to see what ends up on the menu this year. My kids and I love to eat here, unfortunately times have been very tight and eating out hasn't been on OUR menu. When we can come in, I hope to see more veggie items for my vegetarian family.

At Eric's I'm looking forward to wi-fi and I'd love it if the Suntan Special came back!

It is great to see the possibility of adding one more great vegetarian item to the permanent menu. Also the WiFi is a great addition to get me there and keep me there while I work away on a netbook. If you are still looking for additions - try striking up a deal with Quorn (www.quorn.com) to add to the vegetarian options. Great protein made of fungi and it's nutritious and soy free! Their roast would seem to sit well with your offerings and it tastes great.

What would be cool, is if you sold t-shirts and each time you wore the shirt into your store, it would entitle wearer to a free soft drink. Free advertising after someone pays for the shirt. Good for you, good for the wearer, everyone wins. A sandwich shop in OKC does this and it is awesome!
