Boo (or Goo!): It's an Erik's Halloween "Spooktacular!"

Welcome Erik's Email Club Members!
The Goo Times is proud to announce more giveaways for Erik's Email Club members and our readers. As a follow up to our Tuesday email and a suggestion from one of our readers, Aaron, today's giveaways will not be based on the first people to post. Instead we are going to leave the comments open through Halloween and the weekend (ending at midnight on Sunday, November 1, 2009) and do a drawing on Monday to determine our winners. With this is mind, please be sure to check back with the Goo Times on Monday to determine if you have won (winners will be asked to email the Goo Times at that time).

The Goo Times will be giving away ten (10) free sandwich cards to those people who post which "sandwich with character" would make the best Halloween costume! (this will not be based on the first ten (10) people to post, but on a drawing to be held on Monday).

Also, if you are a winner of our October 27, 2009 giveaway and have not been contacted by Erik's, please email the Goo Times: thegootimes@eriksdelicafe.com

The Goo Times is also proud to announce a "dress like Erik contest." For anyone brave enough to take the plunge and take a picture dressed in a manner similar to the picture of Erik posted above will receive a $50.00 gift card from Erik's! If there is more than one (1) submission, the pictures will be judged by Erik himself and the winner announced on the Goo Times. Please email your picture to, thegootimes@eriksdelicafe.com. But, keep in mind that your picture will be posted on the Goo Times.

The Raging Bull Hands down! Especially if it has a front and back end trying to coordinate walking and taking turns getting candy (LOL),

Figures the only time I've ever been in the top ten, let alone first, the process changes (sigh). I do think the new process is a great idea and much more fair, but why when it's my turn to be first : (

Definately the Marrakech Express. Of course it'd just be half the sandwich. You'd start with 2 half circles of natural colored muslin sewn together around the bottom. You'd need to leave a space at the bottom for the legs to go through and 2 holes in the front for hands/arms. Make sure the leg holes are big enough to allow you to walk. Sew a bar such as a broom handle through the hem at the top to hold the half circle straight across. Get a couple of different sized styrofoam wreaths, and paint the outer edge of them purple. Glue them to the broom stick inner edge in varying heights. Get cream colored fabric paints and paint a few globs and drips on the front side of the pocket bread. Cut large pieces of burgandy fabric, cut in curved lines, and a square of a soft yellow fabric, cut in half diagonally. Use fabric stiffener on them and sew them the inside hem behind the cream colored paint althernating the burgandy and soft yellow fabrics, so they are peaking up over the edge. Wear a red hooded sweatshirt. Use a couple of unstiffened pieces of burgandy fabric to fashion some shoulder straps to be sewn on the front and back of the sandwich. You are now a very tasty half Marrakech Express. Have one of your friends dress up like a bowl of Vegetarian Vegitable soup or a house salad and you are a Half Sandwich Combo. Too literal?

I vote for the Suntan Special. I know, I know, it's been discontinued. But it was always my favorite, and Eric's Reuben is not the same, because I'm not wild about pastrami -- and the name definitely not as cool.

Anyway, there would be several possible costumes: train, preferably open with passengers; tourist from over the hill; maybe a person with an orangey fake tan?

It looks like this contest has closed but I want to comment anyway. I think the Cannon Ball Express would look pretty cool. Picture that "rolling" from door to door collecting goodies. Or at a party on the dance floor.

...I'm going to go with the Abbot's Habit. I can easily picture a very nice costume that would go with that -- work well with the decor too!
